PAPA Members Trip to the Range

Several people have asked me to coordinate a range day so here it is.

Date: Saturday Feb 13th
When: Immediately following the PAPA breakfast

Most of the folks asking about having a range day are shooters and have their own firearms. If you are not a regular shooter but would like to come out and squeeze off a few rounds, I'm sure that people will let you shoot some of their firearms but you need to bring ammo. You can go broke providing ammo to people who want to try shooting so please BYOA (bring your own ammo).


I will have the following firearms and am willing to loan them to any shooter who wants to shoot their own ammo through them (assuming the ammo is suitable...ain't nobody shooting poorly stored, oxidized, unjacketed ammo through my rifles):

• M1 Garand (.30-06)
• SKS (7.62x39) be SURE to read ammo restrictions
• Ruger 10-22 (22 Long Rifle)
• AR-15 type (.223)
• Berretta 12 gauge over/under

Who else wants to go shooting? What kind of firearms will you have with you (indicate what caliber it shoots)? Will you be willing to let someone else shoot any of your firearms using their own ammo?

Hope to see lots of PAPA members come out for this. If you have never shot at this range or if you are a new shooter, I will be giving a short familiarization and safety briefing before we go onto the range so don't worry, just come out and have some fun burning up gun powder.

I don't know that I will be able to make it as it is a holiday weekend, but if people have an interest in shooting certain types of firearms, they might want to mention it so that others can decide to bring it. It might help others to decide which firearms to bring :-).
